Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support for the litigation team. Your proactive approach and organizational skills will ensure smooth legal operations, efficient case management, and effective client communication. Duties
- Provide executive administrative support by managing calendars, scheduling meetings, coordinating travel arrangements, handling phone inquiries with professionalism, and ensuring smooth office operations.
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents including pleadings, contracts, correspondence, and reports with precision and clarity.
- Coordinate client interviews and maintain effective communication to gather case information while handling sensitive or confidential information professionally.
- Preparing materials for trials, hearings, and depositions — from exhibits to trial binders.
- Prepare filings for courts or agencies in compliance with procedural law requirements; maintain meticulous records of all filings and correspondence.
- Fielding internal inquiries and directing requests to the appropriate team members.
- Keeping digital and physical files meticulously organized for quick access.
- Manage and organize legal documents using document management systems ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Taking on special projects and other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven paralegal and/or legal support experience in litigation.
- Strong knowledge of procedural law and experience with legal case management software.
- Excellent research skills utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) along with document review and word processing expertise.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective client communication skills combined with professional phone etiquette and proofreading abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining high standards of accuracy in document drafting and filing.
- Familiarity with civil litigation support processes, various court filing requirements/processes and legal administrative procedures is preferred; prior law office experience is highly valued.
