Furniture Direct Fort Walton Beach is seeking a reliable and motivated Furniture Warehouse & Delivery Assistant to join our team. This is an entry-level, hands-on position ideal for someone who is physically capable, dependable, and ready to work in a fast-paced environment.
This role focuses on assisting with furniture handling, assisting with warehouse organization, assisting customers with pickups, and assisting with delivery operations as a helper only. The work is physical and active, involving lifting, moving, and organizing furniture, as well as assisting with in-home deliveries and basic setup.
This is not a driving position. Driving duties are not part of this role.
This is straightforward, honest work that values effort, teamwork, and reliability. The ideal candidate is punctual, organized, physically strong, and comfortable working in an assistant-level role supporting daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with loading and unloading furniture from delivery trucks and customer vehicles
- Assist in organizing and maintaining the warehouse to ensure safe, efficient storage and accessibility
- Participate in furniture assembly and showroom display setup as needed
- Assist delivery operations by helping with loading, unloading, and in-home furniture placement
- Assist with maintaining accurate inventory and delivery documentation
- Keep warehouse areas clean, organized, and safe
- Assist sales and warehouse staff to ensure smooth daily operations
Requirements
- Ability to lift and move heavy furniture repeatedly throughout the workday
- Physically capable of working in a fast-paced, labor-intensive environment
- Basic familiarity with warehouse organization and manual inventory handling
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and assist as part of a team
- Positive, professional, and customer-friendly attitude
- Valid driver’s license required (for identification purposes only — no driving required)
- Reliable transportation to and from work is required
- Background check will be conducted
Schedule
- Full-time (40 hours per week)
- Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM, with later hours expected as business needs require
- During busy periods, overtime should be expected and offers the opportunity to earn additional pay at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate
Compensation
- $20 per hour
- 1099 independent contractor position (no medical benefits)
