Dietary Aide
Location: Calvin Community – Des Moines, Iowa
Position Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM, including every other weekend
Position Summary:
Calvin Community, a not-for-profit senior living community located in the heart of Des Moines' Beaverdale neighborhood, is seeking a dependable and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our Dining Services team. Our mission is to provide high-quality care and services that support the health, comfort, and well-being of our residents.
The Dietary Aide plays an important role in creating a positive dining experience for residents by assisting with meal preparation, service, and maintaining a clean and sanitary dining environment. This position requires excellent customer service, attention to detail, and a commitment to resident satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with meal preparation and food service according to established menus and dietary guidelines.

Deliver meals to residents in dining rooms and other designated areas while providing courteous and respectful service.

Set up and clean dining areas before, during, and after meal service.

Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment as assigned.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, serving, and dining areas.

Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.

Properly store food and supplies according to department standards.

Assist residents with meal-related requests and communicate concerns to appropriate staff.

Work collaboratively with dietary, nursing, and other departments to ensure resident satisfaction.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager or Supervisor.
Qualifications:
Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
-
Previous food service, dietary, restaurant, hospitality, or healthcare experience is preferred but not required.

Experience working with older adults is a plus.
