Job Title: Barista
JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY:
To serve customers at the café with excellence, demonstrating a profound passion for coffee and a steadfast dedication to exceeding customer expectations, thereby upholding the distinguishing quality standards of Leopard Forest Coffee.
DIMENSIONS:
This role encompasses daily café operations, direct customer service, maintaining drink and food quality and quantities, inventory communication, and comprehensive side work and cleaning responsibilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Customer Service & Sales Excellence:
- Warmly acknowledge, greet, and engage with all customers, ensuring they feel welcomed and appreciated.
- Proactively seek to understand customer needs, offering tailored suggestions and confidently sharing accurate product knowledge.
- Prioritize assisting customers before undertaking other tasks.
- Conduct basic food service and manage cash register operations efficiently and accurately.
- Perform standard café and retail sales, engaging customers in fluid conversations about coffee, teas, and other products.
- Inform customers about new products, hours, activities, and sales.
- Articulate the mission and goals of Leopard Forest Coffee Co. to customers.
2. Beverage & Food Preparation:
- Consistently deliver the highest-quality coffees, teas, coffee drinks, and baked/prepared goods in accordance with Leopard Forest Coffee's distinctive quality standards.
- Prepare drink and food items to specifications, accurately filling and preparing orders.
3. Cafe Operations & Maintenance:
- Maintain all areas of the store to be clean, well-organized, and reflective of the Leopard Forest Coffee brand's quality.
- Execute assigned cleaning, stocking, and organizing tasks with pride, including:
- Cleaning barista station and dining areas.
- Re-stocking supplies and coffee.
- Maintaining retail shelves.
- Cleaning and maintaining bathroom facilities, including paper goods stock.
- Keeping the outside of the building presentable, specifically the front patio area and parking lot trash-free.
- Perform opening and/or closing duties thoroughly.
- Maintain the retail space within the cafe.
4. Inventory & Quality Control:
- Ensure all food is fresh and used before expiration
- Assist with inventory checks to minimize waste and loss.
- Create preliminary order lists as needed.
- Suggest new menu ideas and communicate specials to staff and customers.
5. Communication & Support:
- Answer the phone, take messages accurately, and ensure messages are promptly conveyed to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with supervisors regarding inventory, supplies, and operational needs.
6. Physical & Environmental Maintenance:
- Undertake tasks requiring physical strength and dexterity (e.g., lifting up to 30 lbs.)
- Adhere to good hygiene practices.
- Demonstrate attentiveness and a proactive demeanor in maintaining a clean, pleasant, and well-furnished environment for customers.

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
