Job Description
The Inside Sales Representative provides expert guidance and product knowledge to customers within the Branch and over the phone. By working directly with customers to sell custom or stock products and create orders for pickup or delivery, the Inside Sales Representative works toward exceeding sales goals while building customer loyalty. Customer job site and office visits may be required to obtain specifications or measurements needed to place orders for custom products. Other responsibilities may be assigned and additional training provided over time. This position reports to the assigned Branch Director.
Responsibilities specific to the Inside Sales Representative:
Welcome all customers to the Branch and ask open ended questions to determine the scope of their projects and the associated products and service needed. Offer customer loyalty programs and credit account applications to all new and lapsed customers.
Respond to all phone inquiries with the same level of exceptional service and expert guidance provided to customers within the Branch.
Effective communication including the use of common building material product names, jargon, and phrases, an understanding of the end use of stock building materials, and a working knowledge of the phases of construction.
Provide expert guidance, product recommendations and answers to customer questions by continuously learning about the stock products offered at the Branch and all special-order products displayed in the showroom.
Record accurate product details, quantities, measurements and all associated components needed to generate a customer quote; submit to estimating & support department as needed, and communicate finalized quotes to the customer.
Create customer Orders, Special Orders, and Invoices, including customer account and delivery details when needed. Ensure payment is collected and applied to customer invoices and orders per company policy, including required deposits and correct account billing.
When selling windows and doors, work closely with homeowners, builders, contractors and designers to identify their needs, including style, dimensions, materials, energy efficiency, and budget. Advise customers on the benefits of various window/door materials (e.g., wood, aluminum, vinyl), glass types, and finishing options based on customer preferences and project goals. Clearly articulate the advantages of custom solutions, such as enhanced insulation, noise reduction, or design flexibility.
Facilitate the custom special-order process by gathering precise measurements, discussing layout options, and ensuring adherence to building codes or regulations.
Maintain knowledge of industry trends, technological advancements, and the latest features in custom framing, siding, windows, doors, and trim.

Execution of daily operational duties including: product organization, store cleanliness and inventory cycle counts.
Keep all machinery, equipment, and tools clean and in good working order for safe usage.
Report all issues regarding safety, waste, damage, equipment, accidents or customer concerns promptly to a member of Management.
Inform Inventory Control Manager promptly of suspected inventory shortage.
Job Requirements
Prior selling experience in a related field – minimum of 2 years
Building Industry knowledge including the end use of building materials and the phases of construction.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and technical documents preferred.
Motivated, results driven, organized, detail oriented, approachable, and customer-centric
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Arithmetic and Geometry using all units of measurement.
Demonstrated ability to operate a cash register quickly and accurately including all POS and delivery software applications.
Work a flexible schedule that includes weekends.
Periodic daily travel to/from customer job sites from assigned Branch location, in a fleet vehicle, or reimbursed at the federal mileage rate, submitted weekly.
Ability to write, read, and communicate in English

Pay: $29.80 - $40.38 per hour
