The Pharmacy Technician III Certified IV Ambulatory performs specialized functions necessary to assist pharmacists in providing safe, efficient, and cost-effective services. Working under limited supervision, this role maintaining workflow, inventory, billing and other complex pharmacy processes. Additionally, they have ownership of a specialty area.
Essential Job Function:
- Compounds hazardous and non-hazardous IV medications, evaluates for accuracy.
- Documents all tasks in Simplify, including daily and weekly cleaning.
- Assists pharmacists in medication preparation by preparing, labeling and organizing prescriptions.
- Assists with inventory maintenance.
- Maintains pharmacy workflow including ordering and receiving drugs and supplies.
- Serves as mentor in the training and orientation of new employees.
- Leads and implements process improvement and departmental quality initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Certified Pharmacy Technician and must complete anadvanced pharmacy technician certification within 12 months of starting the role.
