About the Role:
Looking for a fun way to earn extra income this summer? We are hiring Event Staff Crew Members to support our certified security team for the upcoming 2026 Jackson County Fair!
This is a great seasonal opportunity to supplement your income, gain experience, and work in an exciting community environment. No prior security experience is required—we train for attitude and run a supportive, team-first operation. Outstanding temporary staff may be considered for future year-round employment opportunities.
Work Schedule & Shifts
Dates: Tuesday, July 14th – Sunday, July 19th, 2026
Must be able to work all dates for the duration of your assigned shift.
We have three distinct 8-hour shifts available (up to 40 hours possible for the week):
- Day Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Swing Shift: 5:00 PM – 1:30 AM
- Grave Shift: 9:00AM-9:30AM.
(UPDATE 07/10/2026: WE ONLY HAVE SWING SHIFT AVAILABLE)
Note: Adequate rest and meal breaks are fully provided in strict accordance with Oregon Labor Laws. Free drinking water is always provided and accessible during your shift.
What You’ll Do
- Work alongside certified security staff to maintain a safe, family-friendly environment.
- Provide excellent customer service, answer guest questions, and guide fairgoers.
- Communicate clearly and effectively using a provided hand-held radio.
- Stay alert and use a common-sense approach to solve minor issues or escalate them to security/supervisors.Position Requirements
- Must be at least 17 years of age.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the fairgrounds for every scheduled shift.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
- Environment: Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying summer weather elements (ranging from direct sun/heat to potential wind or rain).
- Must be able to use handheld radio
- Both DPSST-certified and non-certified personnel are encouraged to apply!
