Job Description
The Buyer will research and purchase supplies, equipment, and services required to support the delivery of healthcare services to patients.
Responsibilities and Duties of Buyer:
- Oversees, monitors and maintains current inventory and stock levels across locations to help prevent shortages or excess inventory.
- Researches, analyzes, and forecasts current and future demand and buying trends to avoid stock outs while minimizing excess inventory to control costs.
- Collaborates with colleagues across different departments to meet the needs of internal end-users, patients, and caregivers
- Develops and maintains relationships with wholesalers and suppliers.
- Supports contract negotiation with wholesalers and suppliers.
- Facilitates the purchase of equipment and supplies.
- Assesses financial risks of purchases and proactively engages with management and/or third-party vendors to identify potential alternatives that help manage costs.
- Maintains accurate records and documentation to maintain transparency and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Supports data and analytics needs associated with identifying trends, maintaining KPIs, and strengthening individual, department, and organizational performance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
