We are partnering with a well-established construction management and general contracting firm that specializes in complex public-sector renovations, municipal facilities, educational buildings, and occupied renovation projects throughout Massachusetts. They are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee a long-term project assignment in the Barnstable, MA area. This opportunity will begin with a Town Hall elevator modernization project before transitioning directly into a renovation project at a local youth center, providing steady work through early 2027. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing public or institutional construction projects, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining schedules, and serving as the primary on-site representative throughout all phases of construction.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day construction activities and site operations from project start through completion
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspections, and material deliveries
- Maintain project schedules and ensure milestones are achieved on time
- Enforce site safety standards and ensure compliance with all project requirements
- Communicate regularly with project managers, owners, inspectors, and municipal representatives
- Complete daily reports, site documentation, and progress updates
- Monitor quality control and ensure work is completed in accordance with plans and specifications
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Superintendent experience within commercial, municipal, institutional, or public construction projects
- Experience managing occupied renovation projects preferred
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Proficient with basic computer software and daily reporting platforms
Pay Range: $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
