Summary
We are seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic team at Gramercy Surgery Center - Queens. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting surgical procedures by ensuring the operating room is prepared and sterile, contributing to the overall success of patient care and surgical outcomes.
The ideal candidate must have at least 1 year of ophthalmology experience and be flexible to work weekends in our Manhattan location as needed.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons by passing instruments and supplies during operations.
- Monitor vital signs and assist with data collection as needed.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols before, during, and after surgeries.
- Maintain accurate medical records related to surgical procedures.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow in the operating room.
- Participate in continuous education to stay updated on best practices in surgical technology.
Requirements
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program is required.
- NBSTSA credentials required
- Minimum of 1 year of ophthalmology experience required.
- Strong knowledge of infection control practices and physiology.
- Experience in an ambulatory surgery center or similar environment is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.
- Flexibility to work weekends in our Manhattan location as needed.
