Salt & Barrel is a true oyster bar and contemporary seafood restaurant. We are an independent family owned restaurant; located in the heart of Main Street. Commuting to S&B is made easy, being only a ten-minute walk from the local LIRR station and possessing plenty of free parking behind the restaurant.
We are looking for an experienced cook or educated culinary school graduate. The job requires day time prep with evening line work of the garde manger station. The candidate will be cross trained in several stations as your experience grows. Candidates must have a strong work ethic and be team orientated. Promising candidates will eventually cross train on the hot line. We have a California kitchen so potential candidates must hold themselves to the highest professional standard in both demeanor and appearance. All potential candidates must speak English (ability to speak Spanish is a plus). Experience prepping seafood a plus. Culinary education background a huge plus. We are offering a full time position with compensation commensurate with experience.
