Job Overview
The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic / Automation Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving manufacturing equipment, automated systems, and facility machinery. This position requires a highly skilled individual with strong mechanical aptitude and experience in electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC controls, automation, and preventive maintenance.
Duties
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial production equipment and facility systems.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system failures.
- Install, maintain, and repair conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, compressors, and production machinery.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance according to maintenance schedules.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, and control systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic cylinders, valves, regulators, air compressors, and air distribution systems.
- Install, wire, and troubleshoot electric motors, motor starters, contactors, relays, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and control panels.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and automated machinery.
- Assist with PLC programming, modifications, and diagnostics like Allen-Bradley.
- Install and maintain automated production equipment as required.
- Fabricate, modify, and repair equipment using welding, cutting, drilling, grinding, and machining equipment when necessary.
- Perform alignment of motors, shafts, bearings, pulleys, sprockets, and drive systems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders.
- Assist with equipment installations and startup of new production lines.
- Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance parts and supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical school, trade school, or equivalent industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience troubleshooting industrial machinery.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical systems up to 480 VAC.
- Experience reading electrical schematics.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
- Basic PLC programming and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with VFDs and motor controls.
- Ability to use electrical test equipment including multimeters, clamp meters, and megohm meters.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
