Admiral Merchants is a long-standing company based in downtown Minneapolis that offers truckload and LTL service, with a variety of specialized equipment available for shipper loading.
We are looking for a Safety Specialist to join our team to help facilitate and monitor the overall safety and compliance activities in accordance with company policies and DOT regulations.
Duties:
-Administer the drug & alcohol testing program and work closely with our approved vendor.
-Manage the Inspection program.
-Oversee the Vehicle Maintenance program.
-Administer the Roadside Inspection & Moving Violation program.
-Oversee the Safety Awards programs, including Annual Safety, Terry Bramer, Million Mile, and Ira Payne awards. Manage the Passenger Authorization program.
-Update and maintain the no load list.
-Complete accident/claim reports; obtain all information needed to complete a proper investigation to determine if accident is a DOT Recordable claim, and ensure appropriate action is taken.
-Handle after hour calls to receive claims related calls at any time of the day or night when assigned.
-Maintain a clear understanding of DOT rules and regulations and their application.
-Administer all aspects of the Hour of Service program.
-Manage the ELD program including tracking, auditing, reporting, compliance and training.
-Oversee the Hazardous Materials program.
-Assist the Safety Director with documentation and follow-up on items for the Safety Review Committee.
-Partner with other departments regarding log violations, missing paperwork, or any other issue that may delay payment statuses.
-Review driver qualification files.
-Final compensation may vary based on experience and qualifications.
