Responsibilities
- Operate laundry machines such as industrial washers, dryers, and garment care equipment to clean textiles efficiently and safely.
- Handle materials with care, including sorting, folding, ironing, and storing linens, towels, uniforms, and other fabrics.
- Ensure all laundry processes adhere to safety standards in production, including proper use of laundry detergents and cleaning agents.
- Maintain sanitation by regularly cleaning work areas, laundry equipment, and storage spaces following established protocols.
- Assist with general housekeeping tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, and replenishing supplies to uphold cleanliness throughout the facility.
- Use push carts and other handling tools to transport heavy loads of laundry or materials safely across the workspace.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during manual handling activities like lifting heavy items or operating machinery to prevent injuries.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques and textile cleaning methods including dry cleaning when applicable.
- Experience with laundry services operations such as garment care machine operation and industrial dryers.
- Ability to handle materials safely using proper manual handling procedures and push carts for heavy loads.
- Basic math skills for measuring detergents, chemicals, or fabric quantities accurately.
- Familiarity with safety standards in production environments to ensure compliance during all tasks.
- Excellent customer service skills to assist guests or staff with their laundry needs courteously.
- Knowledge of sanitation practices necessary for maintaining a hygienic environment in laundry and housekeeping areas.
