Job Description
Cromwell Solar’s Journeymen work under the supervision of the Head of AC Electrical Services, an experienced Master Electrician, to safely, professionally and quickly install backup generators and the AC components of commercial and residential solar photovoltaic (PV) systems as well as other electrical projects, particularly those related to load management and increased efficiency. Journeymen supervise other electrical staff to ensure that all codes are met and that the highest levels of craftsmanship are employed in every project.

As the public face of Cromwell Solar, a firm priding itself on our technical abilities, our electricians are expected to be professional and to obtain and be able to convey their expertise in solar energy systems.
Responsibilities
Reading blueprints and ensuring all plans are within code
Supervising electrical technicians
Receiving delivery and checking inventory for each project
Installation of Generators, Solar Inverters, lighting retrofits, car chargers, battery backups, peak load management, etc for both residential and commercial projects
Mechanical/structural mounting of electrical equipment
Electrical wiring (AC and some DC)
Document completion of completed installation
Clean up of job site
Attend training sessions on new products, installation methodology and safety
Photo documenting finished work
Maintaining Journeyman License
Additional duties required as needed
Requirements
Journeyman electrical license is required
Varied electrical experience preferred, such as in residential service
Must be able to routinely lift 50lbs
Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, crawl spaces, etc.)
Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs, work on rooftops and be able to work on your feet for long periods of time
Basic computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office programs
High school diploma or GED required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Excellent customer service skills required
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal and driving screen
Must have a valid, unrestricted driver’s license
Thrive in a team environment
Ability to travel for out of town projects (generous travel stipend given)
Passionate interest in solar energy and environmental health
