Location: 1600 N. Randall Road, Elgin, 1110 W. Schick Road, Bartlett
Compensation: Salary Range $17.00 – 19.00 per hour, dependent upon qualifications

Job Description:
Patient Service Representatives serve as the first impression and liaison for patients receiving care at Suburban Orthopaedics. Our Patient Service Representatives work closely with the clinical staff to ensure the best and most productive experience for our patients. In addition to greeting patients and making them feel welcome, expectations for the position of Patient Service Representative include but are not limited to the following:
- Greet and identify patients and visitors as they enter the office in reference to the daily schedule and obtain additional patient information as needed
- Assure patient charts are located in the proper place
- Work in multiple systems to schedule patient appointments and maintain their electronic charts
- Obtain and enter patient account information into the billing database including appropriate financial class, insurance payer, and account type as dictated by the applicable insurance plan
- Assist patients with insurance and billing inquiries
- Prepare schedules and charts for the next business day
- Acquire necessary medical records and documents for patient charts by communicating via telephone, facsimile, or in person with other office locations or office personnel
- Retrieve and file records in the patients’ electronic charts
- Keep the waiting area and front desk clean and organized
- Collect payments and perform end of day balancing
- Answer multi-line telephone in a courteous and timely manner
- Transfer calls to the appropriate person and write messages in accordance with approved telephone procedures
- Ensure appointment hours are filled in accordance with appointment scheduling guidelines
- Confirm appointments and follow-up with patients regarding missed appointments via telephone
- Notify patients of changes in the providers’ schedules
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude in the workplace
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Exceptional written and oral communication and customer service skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word and Excel
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Highly detail-oriented
- Flexibility with schedule and travel
- Previous medical office experience preferred
- Bilingual preferred
