Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support the design and development of RF, analog, and digital circuit card assemblies and printed circuit boards (PCBs). The ideal candidate will have hands-on PCB design experience and a strong background in electrical, mechanical, and/or electromechanical design.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed design of RF, analog, and digital circuit card assemblies and printed circuit boards (PCBs) in accordance with applicable industry standards.
- Review customer requirements with engineering teams to determine feasibility related to performance, cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers to establish the overall design approach for assigned projects.
- Provide technical guidance and support to engineers, designers, and drafters regarding final product design and established design parameters.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for cost reductions related to product design and fabrication.
- Coordinate with external suppliers and vendors to support PCB design and fabrication requirements.
- Develop, establish, and maintain technical documentation and design files, including:
- Schematics
- Parts lists/Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Assembly drawings
- PCB routing drawings
- Design reproductions and related engineering records
- Ensure engineering documentation is properly maintained to support document control and design/drafting operations.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and other stakeholders to resolve design-related issues.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of electrical, mechanical, and/or electromechanical design experience
- Minimum of 2 years of PCB design experience, preferably involving DC circuits and/or RF design
- Experience with single-layer and multi-layer PCB designs
- Knowledge of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and hybrid technology preferred
- Experience with Mentor PADS and PADS Logic, or equivalent PCB design software, required
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD is a plus
- Experience with Costpoint and/or other ERP systems preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong understanding of PCB design, schematics, component selection, routing, and engineering documentation
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Experience
Candidates with a combination of RF design, PCB layout/design, analog and digital circuitry, and defense or highly regulated manufacturing experience are strongly encouraged to apply .
Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
