Hosanna Christian School is seeking a passionate, caring, and Christ-centered Preschool Teacher to join our team. The Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom where children can grow spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. This individual will partner with families to provide a strong foundation for lifelong learning while modeling Christian values in every aspect of the classroom.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate, hands-on lessons that encourage curiosity and a love of learning.
- Follow the Abeka Preschool curriculum to provide a strong biblical and academic foundation through engaging, hands-on instruction.
- Foster a warm, safe, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Integrate biblical principles and Christian character into daily lessons and classroom interactions.
- Support each child's spiritual, intellectual, creative, physical, social, and emotional development.
- Establish consistent classroom routines and positive behavior expectations.
- Observe and assess student progress while maintaining accurate records.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student development and classroom activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting learning environment.
- Collaborate with administration and fellow staff members to support school goals.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, school events, and parent conferences.
- Follow all Washington State licensing requirements and school policies regarding health, safety, and child supervision.
Qualifications
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with Christian values.
- Agreement with the mission and statement of faith of Hosanna Christian School.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and coworkers.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous teaching experience in a preschool or early childhood setting.
- Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate teaching practices.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently bend, kneel, squat, lift, and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to actively supervise children indoors and outdoors.
- Stand and move throughout the classroom for extended periods.
- Participate in playground supervision and classroom activities.
