Duties/Responsibilities:
· Perform routine service and maintenance tasks on wet, dry, pre-action, deluge and foam systems in commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. This includes inspecting, testing, cleaning components, and verifying system functionality.
· Inspect Fire assemblies, including testing flow rates, pressure levels, and mechanical integrity.
· Diagnose and repair issues on fire sprinkler systems, such as replacing damaged or malfunctioning components, cleaning pipes and sprinkler heads, lubricating moving parts, and adjusting system settings to ensure optimal performance.
· Conducting routine inspections and tests on backflow prevention devices, including residential and commercial systems.
· Diagnosing and repairing issues with backflow prevention devices, ensuring they function correctly.
· Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with building codes and regulations.
· Provide exceptional customer service to clients by addressing their inquiries, concerns, and service requests promptly and professionally. Educate customers on fire suppression system functionality, best practices, and emergency response procedures.
· Complete and submit all required task-related, activity, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner.
· Work safety and adhere to company safety procedures and guidelines.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and understand the importance of follow-up.
· Familiarity with fire sprinkler codes, regulations, and safety standards.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals.
· Ability to use hand and power tools used in installation and maintenance.
· Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality and a team player.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes.
· Ability to be a part of on-call rotation.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Backflow tester and repair certifications required.
· Experience in servicing and testing portable fire extinguishers preferred.
· Solid understanding of fire protection codes, standards, and regulations, including NFPA 10, NFPA 13, NFPA 25 and relevant building and fire codes.
· Prior experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems in commercial and industrial settings. (Includes dry systems, wet systems, deluge and Pre-Action)
· Experience with dry systems, wet systems, deluge, and Pre-Action.
· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
· CSA Certification required (Backflow, sprinkler, alarm, extinguisher, hood)
Physical Requirements:
· Physical ability to lift and carry equipment and perform tasks in various environments that may involve working at heights and in tight spaces
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
· Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, swat, and crawl, balance, push/pull and reach overhead.
· Repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers.
· Must be able to follow safety protocols and wear proper personal protective equipment.
· Must be able to work safely at client sites in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.
Must be able to navigate to different clients sites daily and have a clean driving record.
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
