Duties
As a CNC machinist:
- Operate CNC lathes and milling machines, primarily using Haas controls, to produce complex parts according to detailed blueprints and specifications.
- Program CNC machines using CAM (Fusion) software and write or modify CNC code to optimize machining processes.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications, and engineering documents to ensure accurate production.
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and workpieces with precision using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measuring instruments.
- Conduct machine inspections and quality checks throughout the production process to maintain tight tolerances and high standards of quality.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and tooling to assist in machine setup or assembly tasks when necessary.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production activities, machine logs, inspection reports, and incident reports.
As a Manual machinist:

As a Fabricator:
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and tooling to assist in machine setup or assembly tasks when necessary.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production activities, machine logs, inspection reports, and incident reports.
- Proficient in Mig, Tig, and Stick.
Skills
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines and CNC lathes with Fanuc controls.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages (G-code), CAM programming software, and the ability to write or modify programs independently.
- Expertise in reading blueprints with GD&T annotations for precise manufacturing.
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and setup procedures.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and bore gauges for quality assurance.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and apply geometric dimensioning & tolerancing standards effectively.
- Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to dimensions, tolerances, feed rates, speeds, etc.
- Experience with welding techniques or assembly tasks.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment issues swiftly.
