Responsibilities
- Greet visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service and answering questions about artworks and products
- Assist customers with product demos, explaining features and benefits to enhance their purchasing experience
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for retail sales transactions, including cash handling, credit card processing, and receipt issuance
- Upsell related items or premium products to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining a genuine approach
- Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure merchandise is visually appealing through effective merchandising techniques
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about artwork details, framing options, or related accessories
- Manage cash register operations, handle cash drawer balancing, and maintain accurate financial records
- Maintain knowledge of gallery products and current promotions to effectively assist customers and increase sales
- Support inventory management by stocking new items, tracking sales data, and assisting with stock counts
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when responding to inquiries or scheduling appointments
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in environments involving product demonstrations or customer engagement
- Supervising experience is a plus; ability to lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service
- Bilingual skills are highly desirable to connect with a diverse clientele
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math for accurate transactions and cash handling
- Experience in merchandising or visual display setup to enhance product presentation
- Knowledge of gallery or art store products is beneficial but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
- Grocery store experience or familiarity with retail store environments can be advantageous in understanding customer service standards
