This is a live-in summer position at Camp Emerson in Hinsdale, MA and requires a Massachusetts nursing license.
GENERAL DUTIES:
Camp Emerson is a summer located in the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts. Located on 140 acres we welcome 150-200 campers every session. Our camp nurses provide medical care for the campers and staff in residence at Camp Emerson under the direction of the Medical Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Dispense meds
- First aid for minor injuries
- Ensure health and safety of campers and staff
- Daily sick call
- Weekly health checks
- Communicating specific camper health needs to staff
- Medical Record Keeping
- Liaising with local doctors, hospitals, and pharmacies
- Communicate with parents
- Accompany sick/injured campers or staff to the hospital or to medical appointments
- Be a safe space for our campers and staff
- Participate in camp activities or events
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) or License Practical Nurse (LPN) degree
- Flexible -- able to adapt to different environments and schedules
- Confidence in nursing skills
- Responsible, hard - working
- Good bedside manner, friendly and personable
- Strong assessment abilities
- Prior experience with children preferred (doesn't have to be in a medical setting)
- Willing to obtain appropriate state Nurse licensure (reimbursement available)
Travel stipend, housing and meals included. As space permits, children may attend camp reduced tuition as campers. Seeking an exceptional nurse. Looking for availability of July 4th – August 9th, 2026
