American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 2B Special Care Nursery (NICU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of NICU experience and an active MA RN license.

Night shift position, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, with every other weekend requirement

13-week contract
-
25-bed unit encompassing L&D, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery, 2 ORs, 2 Antepartum (ANU) rooms, and a Recovery Room
-
Patient population includes all labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn cases
-
L&D nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2–3 for evaluations, 1:1 for active labor, magnesium drip, or epidural; Postpartum ratio: 1:3–4

Average daily census of 15–25 mothers, babies, and laboring patients

No floating required
-
Nights and evening shifts do not rotate; day shift rotation includes a night of call

Charting via Epic EMR

Active MA RN license required; conditional or pending licenses are not accepted

Current BLS certification from AHA only; Red Cross and other providers are not accepted at this facility

Current NRP certification required

Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required for travelers; 3 years required if all experience was gained at a single facility

Special Care Nursery and newborn care skills required

2 professional references required for consideration

Flu vaccine required; no religious or medical exemptions accepted

MA RN license must be active and in hand for consideration

Provide nursing care to patients in a Level 2B Special Care Nursery setting, including L&D, postpartum, and newborn care

Local candidates with a permanent residence within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are eligible to apply

Time keeping is managed through UKG/Kronos

Parking is not validated at Boston-area locations; public parking is available at candidate expense, with daily rates ranging from $17–$22; other facility locations may also have parking costs
