American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Night Shift NICU position requiring 2+ years of NICU II experience and 1 year of Epic EMR experience.
-
46-bed Neonatal Intermediate Care Unit within a hospital setting
-
Cares for neonates greater than 30 weeks and 1000g, transferred from the Neonatal ICU once medically stable
-
Manages post-op patients including G-tubes and ostomies, central lines, and septic workups
-
Focus on preparing families for NICU discharge
-
Patient ratios of 1:3-4
-
Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
-
Weekend coverage required every other weekend, subject to change based on need
-
On-call requirement of at least 3 shifts per contract, subject to change
-
Floating required to other NICU or pediatric areas when not needed in Neonatal Intermediate
-
Uses Pyxis medication system
-
Documents in EPIC EMR
-
Active RN license (SC or Compact) required
-
Current BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required
-
Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
-
NICU II experience required, NICU III experience preferred
-
Minimum 1 year of experience with EPIC EMR required
-
Experience with neonates 34+ weeks required, 29-34 weeks preferred
-
Skills in IV therapy, medication and emergency medication administration, and phototherapy required
-
Skills in blood/blood product administration, antibiotics/antivirals, and steroid administration preferred
-
Experience with Bubble CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) preferred
-
Experience managing respiratory distress syndrome and neonatal sepsis preferred
-
Provide comprehensive neonatal nursing care including feeding support, IV therapy, and respiratory management
-
Support breastfeeding and proper handling of breast milk
-
Manage oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tube placement and care
-
Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols for infectious disease control
-
Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance training required
-
Pre-assignment testing and required modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials

Floating to other Prisma Health units or campuses may be required based on census needs, limited to units where competency has been demonstrated
-
First-time travelers will be considered based on experience
-
Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from any Prisma Health facility to be eligible for full travel pay rate, with reduced rates available for those 90-99.9 miles away
