Responsibilities
- Operate paving equipment such as screeds, loaders, excavators, and dump trucks to lay asphalt efficiently and accurately.
- Prepare construction sites by installing rebar, setting forms, and ensuring proper subgrade preparation for paving operations.
- Mix, pour, and finish concrete with precision, including concrete pumping and finishing techniques to meet project specifications.
- Maintain construction machinery and heavy equipment through routine inspections and basic repairs to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow all safety regulations, including DOT (Department of Transportation) standards and site-specific safety protocols, to maintain a secure work environment.
- Assist with the installation of concrete forms and rebar reinforcement for various civil infrastructure elements.
- Support project teams by performing basic math calculations for measurements, quantities, and material estimates as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience working on construction sites within civil infrastructure projects or similar environments.
- Knowledge of construction machinery maintenance, paving equipment operation, concrete work, and asphalt application techniques.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dump trucks, screeds, and concrete mixers confidently and safely.
- Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery repair and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with safety regulations including DOT standards, safety protocol adherence, and construction site safety practices.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and material estimations in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
