Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients to support chefs and dietary staff
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards
- Support meal assembly and plating processes to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Handle food items safely, following proper storage and handling procedures to prevent contamination
- Aid in setting up dining areas for service and clearing tables after meals to promote a clean environment
- Follow menu plans and assist with catering or special event setups as needed
- Support kitchen team members with basic cooking tasks under supervision to develop culinary skills
Skills
- Experience working in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable
- Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques
- Strong understanding of food handling procedures and food safety regulations
- Previous restaurant or food industry experience is a plus
- Excellent knife skills and ability to assist with meal preparation efficiently
- Knowledge of catering services and serving practices preferred
- Ability to work quickly, accurately, and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
