Genius Kids Santa Teresa is looking for a caring, energetic, and responsible Afterschool Teacher to join our team!
We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and can create a positive, fun, and structured environment for our school-age students.
Position: Afterschool Teacher
Location: 7132, Santa Teresa Blvd, San Jose, CA 95139
Schedule: Monday–Friday, afternoon hours
Job Type: Part-Time
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage with school-age children during the afterschool program
- Help children with homework and school assignments
- Lead games, arts & crafts, group activities, and other enrichment activities
- Maintain a safe, positive, and organized classroom environment
- Support children with positive guidance and age-appropriate behavior management
- Assist with snacks, classroom organization, and daily routines
- Communicate professionally with parents and other staff
- Assist with school pickups if needed (Not required)
We are looking for someone who is:
- Warm, patient, dependable, and responsible
- Energetic and comfortable working with groups of children
- Able to take initiative and keep children meaningfully engaged
- A good communicator and team player
- Punctual and reliable
- Able to pass required background clearances
Experience working with children in a preschool, school, afterschool program, summer camp, tutoring program, or similar setting is preferred.
A valid California driver's license and clean driving record are a plus, especially for candidates interested in assisting with school pickups.
Students studying Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Psychology, or a related field are encouraged to apply!
