EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position focuses on maintaining accurate and complete medical records for inmates within the facility. It plays an important role in ensuring that health information is handled properly and in accordance with established standards. As a Medical Records Technician, you will perform the following duties:

Record Management: Organize and maintain the integrated health record system for incarcerated individuals

Coding Tasks: Code diseases, operations, therapies, and treatments according to established guidelines

File Processing: File, withdraw, issue, and transfer medical records in compliance with confidentiality rules and legal requirements

Record Review: Review medical records and reports for completeness and accuracy and refer incomplete records for correction

Report Preparation: Prepare periodic statistical reports and assemble records for management review

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday

Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $46,827.00 (before taxes). A higher salary may be established in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
