Job Overview
Covered H is seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Tractor Operator to perform mowing and roadside maintenance along county highways and rights-of-way. This position is responsible for operating tractors to maintain safe, clean, and well-kept roadways throughout the county.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate tractors with mowing attachments and other equipment
- Mow grass, weeds, and vegetation along roadsides, medians, and drainage areas.
- Safely work adjacent to active roadways with heavy traffic while maintaining constant awareness of surrounding conditions.
- Operate equipment on steep inclines, deep ditches, uneven terrain, and other challenging landscapes.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or repair needs.
- Follow all traffic control procedures, safety regulations, and department policies.
- Maintain assigned equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.
- Assist with additional roadway maintenance duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to enter and exit heavy equipment multiple times throughout the workday.
- Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, and dusty conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Work Location: On the road
