Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, maintaining strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic while adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality.
- Provide chairside assistance by handling dental terminology, medical documentation, and medical coding efficiently during procedures.
- Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term dental wellness.
- Support administrative duties including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and managing medical records.
- Monitor vital signs when necessary and assist with pediatrics-specific care to ensure a positive experience for young patients.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare environment is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is essential for managing patient data effectively.
- Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and anatomy is required to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Familiarity with dental assisting procedures including four-handed dentistry, chairside assisting, X-ray techniques, and medical terminology is necessary.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry practices and understanding of medical documentation or coding enhances your ability to serve diverse patient needs.
