Assistant Kitchen Manager Job Description:
The Assistant Kitchen Manager is an integral part of the smooth running of Schulman’s Movie Bowl Grille Kitchen Operations. The AKM, under direction of the Kitchen Manager and, manager on duty is responsible for ensuring that food preparation, production, recipes, purchasing and standards within restaurant are operating in accordance to the Schulman’s MBG standards of Uncompromising Quality.
Essential Job Duties:
- Monitoring and validating daily prep production, food quality, and execution
- Oversee smooth running shift execution through detailed readiness, and ongoing direction/communication to the Kitchen Staff.
- Ensuring food safety & sanitation along with meeting health hygiene standards
- Conducting weekly inventories to ensure that proper levels are stocked and assessing ordering patterns and changes; conduct inventory counts prior to purchasing.
- Training, coaching, and developing team members to ensure they are providing Uncompromised Quality food and service for the Schulman’s MBG guests
- Making hiring and training recommendations to the Kitchen Manager and the General Manager.
Qualifications
- Two to three years’ full service, high volume, casual dining restaurant kitchen supervisory experience
- Developed skill sets with cooking, and pressure point station relief as necessary
- Food Handler's Card and Serve Safe Certification
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to motivate and direct team members and work effectively in management team
- Keen attention to detail in all areas to include recipe adherence, and food safety, health & hygiene
- Proven problem-solving
- Ability to stand and walk around a restaurant to supervise operations for 8-10 hours
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, stoop, and raise arms above head on occasion
- Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
