Mac's Electric is growing and we're looking for a talented O2 Journeyman Electrician to join our team in the Tri-Cities area.
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various residential projects. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards, local codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC), and project specifications.
Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in renovation environments using hand and power tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring layouts and system configurations.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems to support automation and control functions.
- Use testing equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues effectively while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with construction teams on site to ensure proper framing carpentry, schematics implementation, and overall project progress.
- Maintain compliance with NEC standards and local electrical codes during all phases of installation and repair work.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems for safety hazards or potential failures, especially in high voltage or power distribution setups.
- Assist in schematic reading for complex electrical systems involving power distribution, low voltage wiring, and control panels.
- Support handyman tasks related to electrical troubleshooting within commercial or industrial environments.
- Document all work performed through detailed reports and logs for quality assurance and future reference.
Qualifications
- Valid journeyman electrician license or certification demonstrating completion of required apprenticeship hours.
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician with a strong understanding of NEC standards.
- Hands-on experience working on construction sites with knowledge of renovation processes.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams related to electrical systems.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage wiring, high voltage systems, and schematics interpretation.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as wire strippers, screwdrivers, pliers as well as power tools necessary for installation tasks.
- Ability to operate testing devices like ohmmeters confidently for troubleshooting purposes.
- Knowledge of frame carpentry basics can be advantageous for certain installation tasks.
- Experience working with construction teams on-site ensuring safety protocols are followed diligently.
