Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist – Graveyard Shift to operate our Modig CNC machining centers in a fast-paced precision manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for a self-starter who can work independently on an overnight shift while consistently producing high-quality components to tight tolerances.
The successful candidate will have experience operating high-performance CNC machining centers, maintaining production efficiency, performing in-process inspections, and troubleshooting machining issues with minimal supervision.
Our facility is climate controlled, and we offer shift differential pay along with a stable overnight schedule.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Modig CNC machining centers to manufacture precision firearm components.
- Work independently while meeting production schedules and quality expectations
- Load programs, verify machine setup, and ensure all tooling and fixtures are properly installed.
- Perform tool changes, monitor tool wear, and make approved offset adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and GD&T.
- Perform first article and in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Ensure parts meet quality standards throughout the machining process before submitting them to the Quality Department for nspection.
- Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot machining issues with minimal supervision.
- Complete production documentation and inspection records accurately.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, coolant checks, chip removal, and basic preventive maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience operating Modig HHV (or comparable high-speed horizontal machining centers).
- Experience performing machine setups, tool changes, offsets, and production runs.
- Ability to perform first article and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently on an overnight shift with minimal supervision.
- Excellent attendance, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Commitment to safety and producing high-quality work.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs and perform manual tasks as needed.
- Standing for extended periods and performing repetitive motions during machine setup and operation.
