Faithful Friends Animal Society is a comprehensive, nonprofit animal welfare organization that serves 18,000 pets and 24,000 people a year through programs and services that focus on the most vulnerable. For 25 years, Faithful Friends has led reforms in animal welfare that have become the building blocks for a comprehensive, humane animal welfare system in Delaware. The number of pets and people we serve each year continues to increase as the demand for our services continues to grow.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Restrain and handle cats and dogs
- Patient check-in and discharge
- Assist surgeons
- Prep animals for surgery
- Prepare surgical packs (routinely clean surgical instruments)
- Keep prep areas clean and at optimal functionality
- Administer vaccines and medications
- Keep accurate anesthesia/surgical medical records
- Monitor animals under anesthesia; respond to irregularities appropriately
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after initial training period.
Handle chemicals, bio-hazardous waste.
Candidates must be able to restrain difficult cats and sometimes large, unsocialized dogs.
Part-time 15-20 hours per week or full-time 36-40 hours per week.
Flexible schedule includes shifts Monday through Friday 7:30 am – 6:30 pm.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
