Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic general manager—NEMT Paratransit Project Operations to lead and oversee all facets of paratransit transportation services. As a GM, you will be managing 300 employees working as a team on this big paratransit project. This pivotal role involves managing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving operational excellence within a complex transit environment. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for operational management, team leadership, and strategic planning, with a proven track record of managing large-scale transportation or service-oriented organizations. As the leader of the paratransit division, you will champion innovation, efficiency, and safety while fostering a collaborative team culture that aligns with organizational goals.
About the role: You will lead the entire operation and answer for its results: service quality, safety, budget, and the vendor and partner relationship. You set the tone for a customer-first, safety-first culture and develop the management team under you.
What you'll do:
- Own overall performance of the contract: on-time service, safety, quality, staffing, and financials
- Lead and develop the operations, safety, training, and maintenance managers and the site team
- Be the senior point of contact with the vendors and our partners, and attend weekly, monthly, and quarterly business and safety reviews
- Drive continuous improvement using real operating data; find and fix problems before the client asks
- Make sure every report reaches our corporate office, vendors, brokersand BOD on time and accurately
- Ensure compliance with ADA, DOT, OSHA, EPA, and EEOC requirements and a safe working environment
- Be reachable 24/7 for service emergencies (or designate an empowered alternate)
What you'll need:
- 4+ years of recent experience managing large-scale transportation operations—ADA paratransit strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of ADA paratransit regulations and operations: vehicle operations, maintenance, safety, and training
- Proven P&L / budget management experience
- Experience across union relations, safety and training, HR, IT, project management, and maintenance management
- A track record of building strong teams and working with agency leadership, public officials, and front-line employees
- Knowledge of the larger regional transportation services is plus

Pay: $145,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
