Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute conditions. Your expertise will ensure prompt assessment, stabilization, and treatment of patients in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive critical care experience, proficiency with electronic health record systems, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. This position offers an opportunity to work within a Level I Trauma Center setting, utilizing advanced medical techniques and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and physical examinations, to determine urgency and prioritize care.
- Administer medications, including IV infusions and injections, following strict aseptic techniques and hospital protocols.
- Manage airway maintenance, ventilator support, and acute pain control for critically ill patients.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
- Execute advanced procedures such as suturing, catheterization (including cardiac and urinary), and specimen collection.
- Coordinate with physicians and specialists in trauma medicine, infectious disease care, cardiology (including cardiac catheterization), and other disciplines for comprehensive treatment planning.
- Lead triage efforts to evaluate incoming patients swiftly and assign appropriate levels of care based on acuity.
- Support discharge planning by providing patient education on medication administration, wound care, and follow-up requirements.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies to ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
- Participate in ongoing training related to emergency medicine advancements, including trauma protocols and critical care procedures.
MUST HAVE:
- 5+ years current ER experience - [REQUIRED]
- Covid Vaccination Required
- Previous travel experience – [Highly Preferred]
- BLS ( AHA )
- ACLS ( AHA)
- PALS (AHA)
- TNCC - Preferred
