Galley Hatch Restaurant is looking for a dependable and motivated Morning Baker to join our culinary team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys baking, takes pride in producing consistent quality products, and prefers an early morning schedule. Our bakery supports the Galley Hatch and produces a variety of baked goods and desserts in a busy, established restaurant environment.
What You'll Do
As a Morning Baker, you will be responsible for preparing and producing baked goods while maintaining the quality and consistency our guests expect.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, muffins, desserts, and other baked goods
- Follow established recipes, production lists, and portion standards
- Mix, portion, shape, bake, finish, and package products as needed
- Prepare products for daily restaurant service
- Monitor production levels and communicate product needs
- Properly label, date, rotate, and store ingredients and finished products
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary bakery workspace
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- Assist with receiving and organizing bakery ingredients and supplies
- Work independently while also communicating effectively with the culinary team
- Complete daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities
What We're Looking For
- Previous baking, pastry, culinary, or commercial kitchen experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic baking techniques and kitchen equipment
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Dependable and punctual — reliable morning availability is important for this position
- Ability to follow recipes and production schedules
- Comfortable working independently
- Ability to stay organized and manage multiple products at once
- Positive attitude and willingness to be part of a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift ingredients, trays, and supplies
- Weekend availability may be required
