NewLife Wellness & Recovery Center is seeking a mission-driven Executive Director to lead the launch, growth, and daily performance of our adult PHP and IOP programs. This senior, on-site leader will oversee operations, people, financial performance, compliance, community partnerships, and patient experience while working closely with the Clinical Director and Medical Director.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide visible executive leadership and translate ownership and Governing Body priorities into clear goals, systems, and accountability
Lead program launch, stabilization, and growth, including staffing, workflows, technology, vendor coordination, and operational readiness.
Direct daily operations and monitor census, admissions, attendance, retention, authorizations, staffing, outcomes, incidents, and patient satisfaction.
Partner with clinical and medical leadership to support safe, evidence-informed, trauma-responsive, culturally respectful, and recovery-oriented care.
Maintain readiness for Massachusetts licensing requirements, accreditation, payer audits, credentialing reviews, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, OSHA, and organizational policies.
Develop and manage the operating budget; oversee labor, expenses, purchasing, revenue-cycle performance, utilization management, denials, and collections.
Recruit, coach, and retain strong leaders and staff while building a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and service excellence.
Develop referral relationships and growth strategies with hospitals, providers, insurers, employers, courts, schools, and community organizations.
Report regularly to ownership and the Governing Body on quality, compliance, workforce, risk, growth, and financial performance.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, behavioral health, social work, psychology, public health, or a related field; equivalent progressive leadership experience may be considered.
At least five years of progressive behavioral-health, substance-use, healthcare, or human-services experience, including three years in leadership or management.
Demonstrated success leading regulated operations, staff, budgets, compliance, quality improvement, and performance accountability.
Knowledge of outpatient behavioral-health operations, payer requirements, utilization management, revenue-cycle processes, EHR systems, and documentation expectations.
Strong executive presence, judgment, communication, relationship-building, problem-solving, and change-management skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience opening, expanding, or stabilizing a behavioral-health program and developing referral partnerships in Massachusetts.
COMPENSATION & GROWTH: $110,000-$150,000 annually, commensurate with experience, with room for professional advancement and compensation growth as NewLife expands its programs and services.
