This position requires excellent organizational skills, proficiency in office software programs (Microsoft Office and Excel) and legal writing experience. Must be able to supervise a diverse and large case load and be proficient in all aspects of Nevada civil litigation cases.
This position is involved in the drafting of pleadings for revision and completion by legal counsel. Applicant must effectively communicate with in-house and local counsel on various legal matters and perform legal tasks as necessary or directed. Applicant must also have the ability to manage the production flow of the civil litigation process to ensure timely filing and compliance with critical deadlines.
In addition to the legal process, applicant will be required to field inbound and outbound debt collection calls, as well as face to face communication with consumers, as needed. As a result, knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and other state and federal laws and regulations concerning debt collection and credit reporting procedures, is preferred.
Qualifications:
* Paralegal Degree or in the alternative, a minimum of 1 year experience working in a law office or legal office environment in a legal clerk position with litigation experience and an understanding of Nevada court system rules and processes.
* Preferred experience in a collection environment with knowledge of the FDCPA, federal state and local laws and regulations concerning debt collection and credit reporting.
* Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel.
* Excellent written & verbal communications skills. Ability to problem solve independently while in a lead role. Must be able to work with staff and clients in a professional, courteous and efficient manner.
* Bilingual (Fluent in Spanish) is a plus but not mandatory.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
