Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our residential shell construction team. In this role, you will review plans and specifications to develop accurate material take-offs and cost estimates that support competitive, profitable bids. Your work will directly impact project success by ensuring pricing accuracy and effective coordination between estimating, purchasing, and project management.
Duties
- Review architectural and structural plans, specifications, and drawings to develop accurate material take-offs for shell scopes (footings, slabs, block, framing, tie-beams, etc.)
- Utilize estimating software to prepare take-offs and cost projections
- Identify plan discrepancies or scope gaps prior to bid submission
- Maintain organized records of estimates and bid history for future reference
- Support Project Management with cost data to inform scheduling and resource planning
Experience
- 3+ years of construction estimating experience preferred; shell or residential construction experience a plus
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles and material take-off processes
- Familiarity with take-off/estimating software
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple bids and deadlines
- Strong communication skills for coordinating across estimating, purchasing, and project management teams
