Job Description:
We are looking for a caring and motivated Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate enjoys building relationships with clients, working collaboratively with coworkers, and making a difference in the lives of animals every day. While the primary focus is small animal medicine, there is an opportunity for the right candidate to work one day per week working with large animals.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and emergency laboratory testing using in-house IDEXX equipment
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed
- Administer and monitor anesthesia/sedation and assist in surgical procedures
- Provide attentive nursing care for hospitalized patients
- Obtain patient histories and assist with exams, including use of AI-supported medical records
- Educate and support clients in understanding their pet’s care
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
- Perform radiographs and other diagnostic procedures
- Safely and compassionately handle and restrain animals
Qualifications:
- Current Veterinary Technician license in Virginia
- Strong communication and people skills
- A team-oriented mindset and positive attitude
- Compassionate, dependable, and committed to patient care
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
