Job Overview
The Director of Operations owns day-to-day operational execution for Fresh Wata and StarBase, ensuring teams, systems, and facilities run safely, efficiently, and consistently. This leader designs and improves the operating system that enables planners, warehouse, fabrication, logistics, and production teams to deliver an exceptional client experience at scale. The role requires strong independent judgment, cross-functional leadership, and accountability for results. This leader serves as the operational quarterback for the organization, ensuring that people, processes, facilities, and resources are aligned to consistently deliver exceptional client experiences.
Works Closely With: CEO, Venue Director and CFO + Event Producers Direct Reports: Warehouse Manager + Logistics Manager , Assistant Production Manager +Additional Operations supervisors/manager as assigned Compensation: Starting at $85,000/year (salary) FLSA Status: Exempt Schedule: Full-time; this role regularly requires nights, weekends, and holidays based on event and production schedules. Occasional local travel may be required.
What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months) - Events and productions are consistently on-time, properly staffed, and execution-ready. - SOPs are current, trained, and followed, improving consistency and reducing rework. - Safety and compliance programs are active, documented, and improving (OSHA/ADA/fire-life safety). - Warehouse and operations teams are hired, trained, coached, and retained with clear performance expectations. - Operational tools (software/subscriptions, scheduling, IT coordination) are organized, secure, and reliable. 1

Operational Leadership & Event Execution - Build a culture of accountability, ownership, continuous improvement, and servant leadership throughout the Operations team. -Lead daily warehouse and venue operations supporting events and facility readiness, including housekeeping standards, set-ups/changeovers, security coordination, and operational readiness. - Serve as the primary liaison between planners/producers and warehouse leadership to align timelines, labor plans, and execution standards. - Monitor operational performance, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction. - Provide operational support during high-volume periods and assist with crisis management when needed.
Establish and facilitate recurring cross-functional planning meetings with Event Producers, Warehouse, Logistics, and Operations leadership to ensure alignment, accountability, and successful event execution.
SOP Ownership & Continuous Improvement - Own the creation, review, updating, training, and rollout of SOPs and operating procedures across Operations. - Standardize workflows and implement tools/systems that improve communication, decision-making, and consistency. - Lead regular operations meetings to review performance, safety, staffing, and process improvements.
Leadership Meetings & Operational Cadence ● Establish and facilitate the Company's operational meeting cadence to drive communication, accountability, and execution across departments. 2● Lead recurring leadership, operations, and cross-functional planning meetings, including weekly leadership meetings, operational planning meetings, and planner alignment meetings. ● Facilitate post-event debriefs (After-Action Reviews) following major events to identify lessons learned, assign action items, and drive continuous improvement. ● Ensure meeting outcomes are documented, communicated, and followed through to completion. ● Drive accountability across operational departments by ensuring priorities are clearly communicated, assigned, tracked, and completed.
People Leadership (Operations Builds the Team) - Lead recruiting coordination for Operations, including interview scheduling, interview participation, and hiring recommendations. - Oversee onboarding and training; conduct 30/60/90-day check-ins and ongoing coaching. - Manage performance management processes, including documentation, corrective action, and performance improvement plans (PIPs), consistent with company policy and applicable law. - Coach and develop managers; support organizational structure, workforce planning, and succession planning. - Exercise independent judgment in managing the department and make recommendations regarding hiring, promotion, discipline, and termination that are given particular weight. Work collaboratively with HR on employee relations, performance management, compensation recommendations, workforce planning, organizational development, and talent succession planning.
Organizational Leadership The Director of Operations provides leadership, coaching, accountability, and performance oversight for the Company's Operations leadership team. This role develops leaders, fosters collaboration across departments, and ensures operational goals are consistently achieved. The Director partners closely with the Venue Director, Event Producers, Finance, and other department leaders to ensure seamless event execution and operational excellence. 3
Scheduling & Resource Planning - Oversee department scheduling and ensure staffing plans align with event calendars, production demands, and operational deadlines. - Allocate labor and resources to meet service standards while maintaining cost controls.
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management - Oversee compliance with applicable federal, Nevada, and local requirements, including OSHA, ADA, and fire/life safety codes and regulations. - Develop, implement, and track preventative maintenance schedules, emergency procedures, and safety policies. - Coordinate inspections, corrective actions, and documentation to maintain a safe, secure, and sanitary workplace.
Facilities, Leases & Vendor Management Oversee facility operations, including maintenance, repairs, renovations, vendor coordination, building improvements, and long-range operational planning. Partner with Finance and the CEO on lease administration and major capital projects. Technology, Software & IT Coordination Oversee operational systems, software, and technology supporting warehouse, logistics, scheduling, and event execution while partnering with Finance on enterprise systems. - Maintain an inventory of company software and subscriptions; manage renewals, access, and usage tracking excluding Accounting-owned systems (coordinate with Finance/Accounting as needed). - Coordinate with the Company’s IT contractor regarding updates, access management, and operational technology needs. - Support operational contract-signing workflows and tools tied to operations ensuring appropriate access controls and process consistency.
Budgeting, Finance & Contract Support - Assist in preparing annual operating and capital budgets; authorize purchases within approved limits. - Partner with Finance on forecasting, budgeting, and financial tracking for operations. Provide operational input into business development, including deal structure, financial modeling, pro formas, deal memos, and performance offers. - Support contract documentation (e.g., LOIs, agreements, extensions) by reviewing for operational feasibility and alignment with event specifications.
Internal Communication & Company Rhythm - Support internal communications such as the “Monthly Wave Maker” (e.g., Google Form and/or newsletter) to improve alignment and information flow. - Communicate clearly and timely with the Venue Director, CEO, and Finance/Accounting regarding operational status, risks, staffing, and priorities. - Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the role.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Proven leadership with the ability to manage managers and teams in a fast-paced environment. - Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; ability to lead through change. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Proficiency with standard business software and scheduling/timekeeping systems (e.g., Microsoft Office; ADP scheduling; E-Time or similar). - Ability to read CAD drawings; ability to create/edit CAD drawings is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications - 6–8 years of operations leadership experience in warehouse operations, venue operations, live events, and/or hospitality. At least 3 years in a supervisory/management role with direct people-management responsibility. - Strong customer/client service orientation and commitment to hospitality. - Working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, estimating, and project profitability. - Must be at least 21 years of age. - Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree (preferred). - Event production and/or hospitality operations experience.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements - Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. - Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and perform physical tasks including reaching/handling, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds. - Work is performed in a warehouse/venue environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and production schedules.
