Job Title: Poultry Farm Associate

Summary of the Role:
The Poultry Farm Associate will support daily operations at a large agricultural complex by maintaining poultry houses, assisting with bird care, performing sanitation procedures, and ensuring compliance with biosecurity standards. This position offers steady hours and opportunities for advancement for individuals interested in building a career in the agriculture industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare poultry houses for clean out by removing debris, stripping litter, and scraping cement floors.
- Empty feeders and assist with feeding and restocking for the following day.
- Raise, lower, remove, or tear down equipment as needed.
- Sanitize floors, walls, slats, and machinery using designated chemicals according to standard operating procedures.
- Open and close poultry house doors as required.
- Humanely euthanize birds when necessary.
- Perform routine maintenance and assist with equipment setup.
- Maintain cleanliness of the farm, both inside and outside facilities.
- Follow all sanitation, biosecurity, safety, and shower-in/shower-out procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Required Skills:
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working with and handling live poultry.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work up to 5 days per week, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, damp, and wet conditions.
- Basic mechanical or chemical knowledge is a plus.
- Previous poultry, livestock, or farm experience preferred but not required.
Compensation:
$18.00 per hour
