Job Description
Definition:
Under direct supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator the Lifeguard is responsible for the safety of patrons within the Casitas Water Adventure facility. The Lifeguard should have a strong sense of commitment, professionalism, and be able to work under stress with a team. This is a temporary seasonal position in which the employee will be assigned tasks related to customer and employee safety, customer service, daily maintenance and other assigned tasks. Temporary employees are subject to termination after the summer season unless transferred to another department at the discretion of the Park Services Manager. Casitas Water Adventure is typically open from May through September.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Job Duties:

Monitoring activities in and around the water through patron surveillance.

Demonstrating professionalism and being alert at all times.

Preventing injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors.

Enforcing facility rules and regulations and educating customers about them

Recognizing and responding quickly and effectively to all emergencies.

Administering first aid and CPR including using an AED.

Working as a team with other lifeguards, facility staff and management.

Participate in all meetings and training.

Responding to customer concerns, compliments and complaints.

Maintaining the facility to provide a safe and clean atmosphere.

Carries out additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Act as a host to all Casitas Water Adventure guests.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Physical Requirements:
- Vision with normal ranges.
- Hearing within normal ranges
- Use of both hands.
- Withstand exposure to UV light, heat, dust and treated water.
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment.
- Exposure to direct sunlight and reflection off of water.
