Job Summary: The Benefits Administrator works with the Director of Human Resources & Administration to aid in
facilitating the human resource benefits program processes at all business locations. This role provides administrative
support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.
Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Administration
- Aid in the administration of the HRIS system, including benefits enrollments, staff status and payroll changes, eligibility
changes, and offboarding
- Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information
- Assist with new-hire orientations and benefits information distribution and meetings
- Perform quality checks of benefits-related data
- Assist employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes
- Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility
- Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes
- Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status
changes and other general inquiries
- Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and
FMLA
- Responds to 403b inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution
amounts
- Assist CFO and Director of Human Resources with annual ERISA audit
- Respond to unemployment claims and attend hearings as needed
- Respond to and process workers’ compensation claims, working with both the employee and the workers’
compensation insurance company
- Assists with the open enrollment process
- Administers the tuition reimbursement program
- Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges
- Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper
deductions
- Perform customer service functions by answering employees’ benefits requests and questions
- Process termination of benefits
- Schedule meetings and interviews as requested by the VP of HR
- Make photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions
- File benefits documents into appropriate employee physical as well as digital files
- Assist or prepare correspondence as requested
- Processes mail regarding benefits
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Legal & Compliance
- Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education,
and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and
aptitude exams and certifications
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best
practices
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent
management, and employment law
- Assists with employee benefits audits to ensure various legal and accreditation compliance standards
- Submit online investigation requests regarding workers’ compensation and unemployment claims
- Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities

- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems
- At least two years related experience preferred
