Responsibilities
- Assist with site preparation, including clearing debris and setting up materials for construction activities
- Perform manual handling tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving heavy materials and equipment safely
- Read and interpret construction plans and technical drawings to support project execution
- Support erosion control measures to protect the site environment and comply with safety standards
- Operate power tools and basic equipment for tasks like cutting, drilling, or assembling components
- Follow all workplace safety regulations and implement OSHA safety standards to maintain a secure job site
- Conduct routine inspections of tools, equipment repair needs, and ensure proper use of safety gear such as respiratory protection and climbing harnesses
Requirements
- Prior experience in industrial or construction environments is preferred but not mandatory; eagerness to learn is essential
- Ability to read blueprints, construction plans, and technical drawings accurately preferred but not mandatory
- Mechanical aptitude for understanding equipment repair and maintenance procedures
- Familiarity with construction workplace safety regulations, including OSHA standards and safety regulations for heavy lifting and manual handling
- Ability to climb ladders or scaffolding safely when required for site access or inspections
- Strong commitment to workplace safety practices, including proper use of respiratory protection and adherence to safety protocols
