You close tax resolution work for individuals and businesses staring down the IRS. Wage levies, back taxes, Offer in Compromise, Fresh Start. These are not tire-kickers. They are stressed, skeptical, and out of time. Most of these are quick, one-call decisions, so the closers who win here move fast, build trust in minutes, and keep the pipeline full. If you can make a frightened person feel understood and still get a decision today, you will do very well here.

David Griggs CPA is a remote-first tax resolution and advisory firm. We help individuals and businesses dig out of IRS and state tax problems with real professional resolution work, not empty pennies-on-the-dollar promises. We are building our sales team and bringing on dedicated closers, so the person who joins now has room to grow as the firm scales. We are not hiring a body to dial. We are hiring closers who want to build a career here.
WHAT THE JOB ACTUALLY IS
You run phone and video consultations with people in a stressful spot. You understand the problem, explain the options in plain language, and guide them to a decision they feel good about. Most close on the first call. The volume is there for a closer who works it, so you take the calls, you follow up on the few that need it, and you keep your pipeline moving. You are not buried in long, drawn-out deals. This is a fast cycle, and the win is a signed engagement and a client who can finally breathe.
This is a high-activity seat. The closers who hit the top here treat speed and follow-up like a sport.
COMPENSATION OVERVIEW:
Structure: 1099, 100% commission
Realistic earnings: $150,000 to $200,000 a year for a producing closer
The model: Fast, often one-call-close deals, so your income tracks the volume you close
Commission is uncapped. The first stretch is about building rhythm with the offer and the pipeline. After that, your paycheck is a straight mirror of how many people you help.
WHO WINS HERE
You build trust fast and close with empathy, not pressure. You have two or more years in closing or strong client-facing sales, ideally in tax relief, debt settlement, credit repair, or consumer legal intake, and you can back your numbers with specifics. You are comfortable with volume, a fast cycle, and emotional buyers. Your follow-up is relentless, because distressed prospects go quiet and come back. You do not need a tax background. We will teach you the product. We cannot teach you the empathy or the discipline.

Personality test. Once your application is in, you complete a short personality assessment. No right or wrong answers. It is how you qualify for the first interview, so it is not a step to skip.
First interview, culture fit. We get to know the real you and find out whether this is a place you would thrive.
Second interview, skill assessment. If you advance, you show us you can sell, usually with a short role-play. This is where closers separate from talkers.
Final interview, company alignment. The last conversation is about direction. We make sure your goals and ours point the same way, because long-term only works when they do.
