Electrical Helper
Location: Cedar Rapids, IA 52228
Start Time: 6:15 AM
Pay: $18–$25 per hour
Position Overview
We are seeking Electrical Workers to support commercial and industrial construction projects in Cedar Rapids. This role performs basic, physical, unskilled electrical‑contractor tasks and assists the Foreman and Superintendent with day‑to‑day jobsite operations. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to enter the electrical trade and gain hands‑on field experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lifting & material handling including moving tools, conduit, wire, and jobsite materials
- Digging, trenching, and excavating for underground electrical pathways
- Climbing ladders and working at heights safely and confidently
- Sawing, drilling, cutting, and basic tool operation
- Assisting with conduit layout, pulling wire, and staging materials
- Supporting electricians with jobsite preparation and cleanup
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Following all safety rules, PPE requirements, and instructions from leadership
Requirements
- Ability to perform physical labor in all weather conditions
- Willingness to learn and follow direction
- Reliable transportation and punctuality for a 6:15 AM start
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, bend, kneel, dig, and climb
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Preferred 3 years of experience in Electrical
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
