Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Dietary Supervisor to join our team at Atlas Rehabilitation and Healthcare at Daughters of Miriam Campus. As a Dietary Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the dietary department, ensuring the delivery of quality nutritional meals to our Residents, and providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities:
Plans, directs, and supervises the activities of the dietary staff to ensure efficient and effective food service operations
Operates the dietary department in a safe and sanitary manner, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations and following established policies and procedures
Plans meals far enough ahead to minimize the need for food substitutions and works closely with the facility dietitian to ensure meals meet the nutritional needs of our Residents
Orders food supplies and oversees the food tray line to ensure trays are prepared according to diet cards in an efficient manner to meet scheduled meal and snack times
Responsible for operating the dietary department within budgetary guidelines and limitations and completes annual performance reviews of all subordinate staff
Provides guidance, education, and counseling to staff members as needed, and reports hazardous conditions and equipment to the dietary director
Attends and participates in meetings and in-services as directed or scheduled
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position supervises Cooks, Dietary Aides, and other Dietary Staff.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a healthcare setting and requires regular walking to various locations around the facility while pulling or pushing dietary carts. The dietary department can experience extreme temperature changes from excessive heat in the cooking area to freezing temperatures in walk-in freezers. This role may also come into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping on a regular basis. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items weighing over 20 pounds.
Shift:
12 PM - 8 PM Saturday and Sunday
