The Starz Program is expanding its Lake Norman team and is currently seeking an experienced Children's Fitness Instructor. If you love teaching gymnastics, dance, sports, yoga, and more to young minds aged 2–12, we want you to join our dynamic team.
Position: Children's Fitness Instructor
Location: Lake Norman area, including Charlotte, Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, Mooresville, and Denver, NC
Type: Part-Time
Responsibilities:
- Lead engaging fitness classes for children ages 2–12 using the Starz curriculum (provided)
- Create a positive, inclusive environment that encourages participation and a love for physical activity
- Foster teamwork, discipline, and respect among participants
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children during classes
- Communicate with parents and caregivers, providing updates on children’s progress
Requirements:
- Proven experience working with children ages 2+
- Comfortable teaching a variety of activities (dance, sports, yoga, etc.)
- Must have a reliable vehicle and be willing to travel to multiple locations
- Must have (or be able to obtain) a DCDEE Qualification Letter
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to create and implement age-appropriate fitness programs
- Passion for working with children and promoting a healthy lifestyle
- High level of accountability, professionalism, and reliability
Qualifications:
- First Aid and CPR Certification (preferred)
- Background check clearance
- DCDEE Qualification Letter through the NC Department of Health and Human Services (required)
Schedule:
- Part-time with flexible hours (primarily weekday mornings and afternoons)
